POTTERY

Here at All- Year-Round there's a pottery course to suit everyone. Have you been inspired by  'The Great Pottery Throw-Down'? Try your hand or improve on existing skills. The therapeutic benefits of working with soft clay make this a stress-relieving

activity. Small friendly groups ensure plenty of individual attention and

guidance. So you can choose from one or two day classes, a two hour taster, or weekly classes.

POTTERY TASTER COURSES

This 2 hour taster session serves as a great introduction to ceramics, learn how to work

with the material, hand build pots and take turns to use the potters wheels.

Up to 6 people per session. You can choose two pieces to be fired and glazed. These

classes are adults only (aged 16 or over). Children’s group session details available on

request.

HAND BUILT POTTERY

Ideal for couples, families and friends, located in a charming Herefordshire workshop.

A chance for all to have a play, learn more about pottery, and gain practical experience

of working with clay. This course is an introduction to hand-building techniques making

pinch pots, slab pots and coil pots. You will receive four of your own finished, fired and

glazed pots after the course, which are included in the price. You will explore a whole

range of techniques based on age-old hand-building methods that you will be able to

take away and continue to use

at home.

ONE OR TWO DAY COURSE THROWING ON A WHEEL AND HAND BUILDING

This course is really for anyone, those entirely new to throwing as well as those with

experience. You can go along at your own pace once you've seen demonstrations.

During the first day you will prepare clay for throwing, learn about centring the clay,

and start to throw a variety of shapes and sizes. You will receive four of your own

finished, fired and glazed pots after the course, which are included in the price.

On day 2 we will learn about pulling handles and applying them, and practice all

the skills learned on day one, as well as using larger amounts of clay if wished.

You will receive four more of  your own finished, fired and glazed pots after the

course, which are included in the price.

WEEKLY AFTERNOON AND EVENING CLASSES

Would you like to join a weekly class to  try your hand at hand-building and thrown

pottery? Each week a new skill will be demonstrated and you will have a chance to

practice and develop your own work, taking turns on the wheels and hand building.
