Here at All- Year-Round there's a pottery course to suit everyone. Have you been inspired by 'The Great Pottery Throw-Down'? Try your hand or improve on existing skills. The therapeutic benefits of working with soft clay make this a stress-relieving
activity. Small friendly groups ensure plenty of individual attention and
guidance. So you can choose from one or two day classes, a two hour taster, or weekly classes.
POTTERY TASTER COURSES
This 2 hour taster session serves as a great introduction to ceramics, learn how to work
with the material, hand build pots and take turns to use the potters wheels.
Up to 6 people per session.You can choose two pieces to be fired and glazed.These
classes are adults only (aged 16 or over). Children’s group session details available on
HAND BUILT POTTERY
Ideal for couples, families and friends, located in a charming Herefordshire workshop.
A chance for all to have a play, learn more about pottery, and gain practical experience
of working with clay. This course is an introduction to hand-building techniques making
pinch pots, slab pots and coil pots. You will receive four of your own finished, fired and
glazed pots after the course, which are included in the price.You will explore a whole
range of techniques based on age-old hand-building methods that you will be able to
take away and continue to use
ONE OR TWO DAY COURSE THROWING ON A WHEEL AND HAND BUILDING
This course is really for anyone, those entirely new to throwing as well as those with
experience. You can go along at your own pace once you've seen demonstrations.
During the first day you will prepare clay for throwing, learn about centring the clay,
and start to throw a variety of shapes and sizes. You will receive four of your own
finished, fired and glazed pots after the course, which are included in the price.
On day 2 we will learn about pulling handles and applying them, and practice all
the skills learned on day one, as well as using larger amounts of clay if wished.
You will receive four more of your own finished, fired and glazed pots after the
course, which are included in the price.
WEEKLY AFTERNOON AND EVENING CLASSES
Would you like to join a weekly class to try your hand at hand-building and thrown
pottery? Each week a new skill will be demonstrated and you will have a chance to
practice and develop your own work, taking turns on the wheels and hand building.
Weekly pottery classes available
Monday afternoons: (2 - 4.30)
Tuesday mornings (9.15 - 11.45) and
Wednesdays evening ( 6.30 - 9.00)
Thursday evening (6.30 - 9.00)
